Methodical aspects of teaching mathematics (applied) course statistics in higher education are considered. The necessity of inclusion in the program of the course labs is shown. An indicative list of those labs containing statistical modeling, estimation of the distribution parameters, statistical hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, regression analysis, nonparametric statistical methods and sampling methods is given. For each lab a tentative list of tasks included in the job is offered. Methods for solving problems using Excel-spreadsheets are partially specified.
