The paper studies the matters of target oriented training of specialists needed by governmental institutions under market economy conditions as well as the matters of managing activities to provide the appropriate quantity and quality of prospective student body enrolled to study at the university. The results of Information Science and Control Systems Faculty student body monitoring at Bauman Moscow State Technical University in order to study the degree of students’ adaptation to studying in the University are given, which make it possible to optimize this process and provide recommendations on the organization of the University’s activity in general education institutions involving school pupils and teachers as well as on target oriented specialist training activity planning inside the University.
