                <title><![CDATA[The Investigation of the Initial Stage of Cold Sintering of а Porous Sample in the Local Equilibrium Approximation]]></title>

				&lt;p style=&quot;text-align: justify;&quot;&gt;A mathematical model of the cold sintering process at the initial stage (the process of neck formation) is considered. The mathematical model is based on the representation of sintering as a two-phase non-equilibrium process and is a boundary-value problem for a system of partial differential equations. The two-phase process is analogous to a two-component non-equilibrium phase transition, the mechanism of which, according to Kan&amp;mdash;Hillard, is diffusion stratification. Since the presented system of differential equations is nonlinear, a modified numerical method of finite differences is used to study the model. Examples of the obtained numerical results are given. Additionally, the data was analyzed, and conclusions were made about the duration of the initial stage of the process. A comparison was also made with other theoretical results presented in a similar work. The directions for further research on the cold sintering process are discussed.&lt;/p&gt;
