Two-Group Zoom Lenses for Digital Cameras

The paper presents design and calculation principles of two-group zoom lenses for digital cameras. Three types of zoom lenses arrangements are presented differentiated by the order and the sign of the incoming groups optical powers. Formulas for calculating the groups translocation and the image plane position are provided. The optical circuits and the main characteristics of the current two-group zoom lenses are reviewed based on the patent data base analysis.
