Protection of intellectual property as a factor of innovative development

The article deals with the problem of intellectual property protection in Russia and analyses its impact on the innovative development of the country. We define the notion "intellectual property" and highlight the need to improve literacy in the engineering field of intellectual property and its protection in order to avoid possible negative economic consequences for individual businesses, as well as for the country as a whole. We provide recommendations for authors in the field of intellectual property on the legal protection of their works.
