Profiling the surface of the nozzle unit sealing insert of an axial turbine with the regulated nozzle set

The paper highlights a problem of power drop in the gas turbine engines and gas turbine plants (GTP) with an increase in the air temperature (air density drop) at the inlet. As a solution to the problem, it proposes to change flow area of the GTP turbine nozzle unit during the GTP operation. The closest patented solution is analyzed, and its disadvantages are indicated. Design of the regulated nozzle set of the real prototype is analyzed. The paper proposes a design option for the axial turbine stage with a regulated nozzle set. The proposed option includes a set of the design and power scheme, including a method for fixing the turning blade in the flow path and profiling the surfaces contacting the blade. The resulting surface profile makes it possible to avoid a radial gap in the turning blade feather connection with the stator conical (diffuser) part. Using the 3D simulation, the proposed design is visualized.
