The issues of optimizing the reliability of technical complexes at cosmodromes are considered. In particular, the problem of optimizing reliability requirements for their component parts and basic elements is formulated and solved. In solving this problem, the minimum cost of creating/upgrading the technical complex was adopted as the optimality criterion. The optimal value of the probability of failure-free operation of the i-th element of the technical complex was shown to depend linearly on the difference between the corresponding values of the allowable and extremely low probabilities of failure of the complex and to be determined by the relative normalized cost of increasing this probability during the development of the given element. In particular, an expression was obtained for determining the optimal number of required prototypes of the i-th element of the cosmodrome technical complex based on the calculated optimal value of the probability of failure-free operation of this element. An example of the practical application of the proposed solution to the considered optimization problem is presented. The solution of this optimization problem may contribute to improving the efficiency of the creation and subsequent operation of technical complexes, as well as to the development of ground-based space infrastructure as a whole.
