Analysis of Global Orbital Cargo Flow Trends

A comprehensive study was conducted to investigate the impact of macroeconomic indicators of leading spacefaring nations on their launch activity parameters over the period from 1991 to 2025. A statistical relationship between gross domestic product at purchasing power parity and the intensity of orbital cargo flow formation was identified and formalized. The dynamics of launches, categorized by launch vehicle class and target orbit, were analyzed. Particular attention was paid to the growth of cargo flow to low Earth orbit, driven by the deployment of large satellite communication constellations, and the long-term sustainability of this trend was assessed. It was established that, for most countries, the ratio of the mass of domestically developed payloads to the size of the national economy remains relatively constant. This ratio can therefore be used as a baseline constraint in the planning of future launch systems. The results obtained provide a factual and methodological basis for forecasting national orbital cargo flows, particularly for assessing the prospects for the development of the Russian Federation's launch activities under the evolving structure of the global space market.
