The article describes a method for predicting the reliability and increasing the durability of rocket-space systems in case of emergency and partial failures of supporting devices. It is shown that using the strategy of alternating the regular and derated modes of operation allows significant increasing the average time of reliable operation. The optimization of switching frequency between regular and derated modes of operation is presented. Areas of expedient use of cyclical operation depending on the switch reliability are determined. The efficiency of the technique is illustrated by a model example. The obtained results can serve as a guide for engineers in solving the problems of ensuring the reliability and durability of rocket and space systems in the process of developing and implementing goal-oriented space programs
