The current stage of cosmonautics development makes it necessary to develop new descent vehicles to perform a large number of tasks in space — conducting experiments in orbit and delivering the results of experiments to Earth, bringing spent spacecraft down from orbit, conducting fundamental research on the surface of celestial bodies by contact. To ensure a reduction in speed during landing, various special devices are used in descent vehicles. The paper describes the use of inflatable braking devices in a small descent vehicle. The main aspects of the mathematical description of the motion of such a descent vehicle are given, taking into account small asymmetries and deformations of the inflatable braking device due to the displacement of the center of mass. The results of modeling the motion of a small descent vehicle for two different environmental parameters are given and the most favorable descent modes are obtained.
